Robert “Bob” Fioretti is an Alderman in the Chicago City Council, representing the 2nd Ward. He has served as 2nd Ward Alderman since 2007, and was re-elected in 2011. The 2nd Ward currently includes portions of Bronzeville, East Garfield Park, the Illinois Medical District, Little Italy, the Loop, Near West Side, Prairie District, the South Loop, University Village, Westhaven, and the West Loop. In 2015, the ward will shift north as a result of the 2012 remap and will include portions of Streeterville, the Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, East Village, West Town, Wicker Park, Bucktown, and Ukranian Village. Bob Fioretti also serves as the 2nd Ward’s Democratic Committeeman, which is part of the Cook County Democratic Party. He is a member of the City Council Committees on Aviation, Committees, Rules and Ethics, Health and Environmental Protection, License and Consumer Protection, Special Events, Cultural Affairs and Recreation, Transportation and Public Way, and Zoning, Landmarks and Building Standards. Bob was born and raised in Chicago’s Pullman/Roseland neighborhood on the south side. He is the son of a Polish-American mother and an Italian immigrant father who moved to Chicago and worked for the Pullman train car company. Bob attended St. Anthony’s Grammar School and Mendel High School. He received a Pullman Foundation scholarship to attend the University of Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and served as Student Body President.Upcoming events
