Senator Christine Radogno is the Illinois Senate Republican Leader. She is the first female Caucus Leader in Illinois General Assembly history. First elected by her peers in 2009, Leader Radogno is in her fourth term as Minority Leader in 2015. She has served in the Senate since 1997, representing the 41st Senate District with communities in Cook, DuPage, and Will counties. Leader Radogno is a state budget expert pushing to stabilize the state’s fiscal position, while also tackling the complicated issues to grow the state’s economy and restore citizens’ faith in government. Radogno was a key figure in the workers' compensation negotiations that led to the most significant reforms to the state’s system in decades. However, she continues to advocate for additional workers’ comp reforms and other measures to improve the state’s jobs climate. She maintains a keen interest in opportunities to strengthen Illinois’ economy and its partnerships around the world. Senator Radogno received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Loyola University Chicago. She and her husband, Nunzio, reside in Lemont. They have adult children and four grandchildren.
