Tony W. Hunter
Tony W. Hunter is Publisher and CEO of Chicago Tribune Media Group (CTMG), one of the nation’s largest diversified media and marketing solutions companies. An accomplished media executive, Hunter oversees a vast portfolio of print and digital solutions, including the award-winning flagship Chicago Tribune brand, and an array of niche products, including Chicago magazine, RedEye and Hoy. Hunter is a champion of innovation who has significantly expanded CTMG’s differentiated consumer offerings across all platforms – print, digital, mobile and social. The industry-leading solutions introduced under his watch include: the acquisition of 38 suburban-Chicago titles, which significantly enhanced Chicago Tribune’s position as the area’s news and information leader; the implementation of an award-winning next-generation digital experience which has earned national accolades; the introduction of Blue Sky Innovation, a hub for tech-minded entrepreneurs, and the development of digital marketing services, including branded content/native advertising solutions. Hunter, who joined Chicago Tribune in 1994, has steered the company through a period of innovation by nurturing a culture of collaboration, encouraging team members to embrace emerging platforms and identify new opportunities to engage audiences and marketers alike. Today, CTMG engages more consumers than ever in its 167-year history. In addition to serving as Publisher and CEO of CTMG, Hunter is responsible for overseeing Tribune Publishing’s Shared Services and Business Services units, which drive efficiency through the Company’s eight major media groups while also offering a robust portfolio of solutions to outside publishers. Hunter is the chair of Metropolitan Family Services, secretary of the Newspaper Association of America, a current member of the Civic Committee of Chicago, and sits on the board of directors for the Alliance for Audited Media.
Jim Kirk
Jim Kirk is the Publisher and Editor In Chief of the Chicago Sun-Times. Kirk was previously Chief of Editorial Operations at Crain’s Chicago Business. Prior to joining Crain's, Kirk was the Managing Editor at the Chicago News Cooperative. Prior to that, he worked in Washington D.C. at Bloomberg News overseeing White House, Congress, and other federal agencies coverage. Kirk started his journalism career in Chicago at Grocery Marketing Magazine and Adweek magazine before joining the Chicago Sun-Times in 1995. He joined the Chicago Tribune in 1997, and grew to be one of Chicago's premier business journalists. Kirk grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and received a BS in Mass Communications from Illinois State University.
David Snyder
David Snyder is Publisher of Crain’s Chicago Business, the nation’s leading local business newspaper and Web site with a weekly print readership of more than 200,000 and online readership of over 1 million monthly unique visitors. He was named Publisher in October 2010, having previously served as Associate Publisher. In June 2011 he was named a vice-president of Crain’s parent company, Crain Communications Inc. Prior to his role as Associate Publisher, Mr. Snyder had been Crain’s General Manager/Interactive where he launched and then managed the paper’s daily online publishing operation under the brand ChicagoBusiness.com. A 33-year Crain’s veteran, Mr. Snyder started his career as a researcher in the publication’s Washington, D.C. bureau before moving to Chicago in 1984 (when Crain’s was in only its 6th year of business) to become a reporter. He served in various newsroom management positions, including more than six years as the Editor (1993-2000). Mr. Snyder is on the board of directors of the Harris Theater—where he serves as chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Executive Committee—and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce as well as being a member of the CEO Council of Chicago United. He is also a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the Economic Club of Chicago, the City Club of Chicago, The Chicago Club, and the Executives’ Club of Chicago. A native of Easton, Pa., Mr. Snyder is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., where he received his degree in business administration.
