Evan Bayh
Evan Bayh served as the junior United States Senator from Indiana from 1999 to 2011. As a moderate Democrat, he was a leader, working in a bipartisan manner to seek consensus on several key issues, including financial services reform and healthcare. He was also a leading voice advocating fiscal restraint on government spending. Senator Bayh served on several committees, including Armed Services; Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; Energy and Natural Resources; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; Aging; and Senate Intelligence. Prior to being elected to the Senate, he was elected to two terms as governor of Indiana, where he enacted welfare reform, cut taxes, and brought about fiscal discipline to the state's budget. He also served as Secretary of State in Indiana (1986-1989). Senator Bayh received his bachelor’s degree in business with honors from Indiana University in 1978, and received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1981. In 1982, Senator Bayh clerked for the Honorable Judge James E. Noland of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Currently Senator Bayh is a partner at McGuireWoods LLP and a senior advisor to McGuireWoods Consulting. Senator Bayh is also a senior advisor at Apollo Global Management in New York. Senator Bayh serves on the board of directors for Fifth Third Bank, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Berry Plastics Corporation, RLJ Lodging Trust, and McGraw Hill Education. He also serves on the advisory board for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and is a Fox News contributor.
Carol M. Browner
Carol M. Browner most recently served as assistant to President Barack Obama and director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, where she oversaw the coordination of environmental, energy, climate, transport, and related policy across the federal government. During her tenure, the White House secured the largest investment ever in clean energy and established a national car policy that included both new automobile fuel-efficiency standards and the first-ever greenhouse gas reductions. Previously, Browner was a founding principal of The Albright Group LLC from 2001 to 2008. From 1993 to 2001, Browner served as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. As administrator, she adopted the most stringent air-pollution standards in our nation’s history, set a fine-particle clean air standard for the first time, and spearheaded the reauthorization of the Safe Drinking Water Act, as well as the Food Quality Protection Act. She was known for working with both environmentalists and industry to set science-based public health protections while providing businesses with important flexibilities in how to meet those standards. She worked across the agency to ensure a focus on protecting the most vulnerable, particularly children. From 1991 to 1993, Ms. Browner served as secretary of environmental regulation in Florida, where she launched the largest ecological restoration project ever attempted in the United States to restore the natural flow of water to the Everglades.
Sean McGarvey
Sean McGarvey, President of the North America's Building Trades Unions, started his career with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) in 1981 in Philadelphia, PA, and subsequently worked his way up through various leadership positions within the IUPAT. In 2005, he was elected Secretary-Treasurer of North America's Building Trades Unions, and in 2012 was unanimously elected to the office of President. Mr. McGarvey currently serves in various capacities for many organizations, including the Oil and Natural Gas Industry Labor-Management Committee, the US Council on Competitiveness, the Union Labor Life Insurance Company (Ullico), the National Alliance for Fair Contracting, Inc., the National Coordinating Committee for Multi-Employer Plans, The Center for Construction Research and Training and Military Recruitment, Assessment, and Veterans Employment (CMRAVE). Mr. McGarvey also serves on the Board of Directors for the Nuclear Energy Institute.
Doug Scott
Doug Scott is the former Illinois Commerce Chairman having served under Illinois Governor Pat Quinn between 2011 and early 2015. Prior to serving as ICC Chairman, Scott served as director of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency from 2005 to 2011. During those years he chaired the Illinois Governor’s Climate Change and Advisory Committee and was a member of the Midwestern Governors’ Association panel charged with developing a regional cap-and-trade system. He was a member of the Air Committee for Environmental Council of States (ECOS) and the USEPA Environmental Financial Advisory Board. He served as chairman of The Climate Registry Board of Directors and co-chair of the Keystone Foundation Energy Board. He was elected and served as mayor of Rockford, Illinois from 2001 to 2005. As mayor he held leadership positions in the Illinois Municipal League, United States Conference of Mayors and the national League of Cities. He also served as president of the Illinois Chapter of the National Brownfield Association. Scott was elected a state representative from the 67th district in 1995 and served in the General Assembly until 2001 when he became mayor. Scott also served the city as city attorney. A native of Rockford Scott received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Tulsa in 1982 and a juris doctorate with honors from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI in 1985. Scott is married to Tammy Scott.
