Ed Mazur
Dr. Edward Mazur is Vice President of The Mazur Group, a management consulting firm based in Chicago. For more than thirty-five years, he has developed and trained leading practitioners in diverse areas including public administration, public policy, human resources, social and criminal justice, and health care cost containment. Dr. Mazur served as the Director of the City of Chicago/City Colleges Intergovernmental Executive Program from 1969-1993.
Currently, Dr. Mazur consults with a variety of federal, state, county, municipal, and private organizations. Clients include the City of Chicago, the Chicago Board of Elections, the Illinois Historical Society, World Chicago, Comfort Tours, Wish You Were Here Tours, My Kind of Town Tours, Chicago Line Tours, Illinois Women in Leadership, and the Chicago Jewish Historical Society.
Dr. Mazur received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Illinois and he earned a PhD in Urban History and Politics from the University of Chicago. Dr. Mazur retired from the academic classroom as Professor Emeritus in the Social and Behavioral Sciences at the City Colleges of Chicago. He has served on the faculties of Governors State University, Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Padua, the University of Perugia, Trinity College Dublin, and the University of Vienna. Dr. Mazur is the author of several monographs and more than 200 articles in the areas of urban affairs, politics, transportation, human resource development, and diversity.
Dr. Mazur is the Chairman Emeritus of the City Club of Chicago Board of Governors. He has been an active and contributing Governor of the City Club since 1997.
